Beast Unchained – Skills Sessions

Dyfi Events in association with Beics Brenin and Pedal MTB are bringing an exciting new feature to The Beast Unchained event in 2022. Pedal MTB will deliver a selection of short MTB Skills training sessions throughout the event weekend. The sessions are open to all, you do not need to be signed up to any other part of the event to join in and the sessions are subsidised and made possible with the support and generosity of both Pedal MTB and Beics Brenin. A nominal charge of £5 per + eventbritre booking fee per session proceeds will be charged and all proceeds raised will be donated to South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team.

Want to get more from your riding?

Alongside the Beast Unchained event through the support of event sponsors Beics Brenin and Event Partners Pedal MTB we are bringing a great new addition to this year’s event.

Through both Saturday and Sunday, Pedal MTB will be holding a series of short MTB skills sessions designed to give you a chance to gain some help, tips and useful pointers to level up your riding under the watchful eye of a skilled and qualified MTB skills trainer.

The hour (to hour and a half) long sessions will focus on 3 important aspects of bike handling, you can join for the full set of 3, or just 1 or 2 sessions. They are all individually bookable and running on both Saturday and Sunday of the event weekend. Just don’t forget your times if you are riding in Sunday’s Beast Unchained or accompanying children in the Mini Beast challenge as some sessions will clash with these events.

The courses are open to anyone 8years and over, although all child participants (anyone under 16) MUST be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian who remains with them throughout the session. This can be another person booked onto the session or someone who is not taking part but is there to accompany the a child/children taking part.

You will need?

You will need a bike, riding gear and of course, a helmet is mandatory. The bike must be in good condition, well maintained and safe to ride. The helmet and any other protective wear should fit well, meet UK safety standards and be in good condition. All sessions commence with a short safety check and the instructor retains the right to omit participants who’s bike or helmet are not of a suitably safe condition.

Session Times

There are three sessions, each focusing on a particular skills area. You can try all 3, 2 or just 1. The session will start at  9am, 11am and 1.30pm on Saturday and this will be repeated at the same times on Sunday. Below is a chart of the available sessions with each individual session numbered for identification.

These sessions are supported by our event sponsor Beics Brenin but a nominal charge of £5 + eventbrite booking fee is charged per session in order to secure a place. All proceeds will go to South Snowdonia Search And Rescue Team.
