Pedal MTB – Introduction to MTB Skills (taster session)

These sessions provide an open introduction to some of the essential skills of mountain biking.

 

The sessions are designed for novice mountain bikers and will build on existing cycling skills and teach individuals how to safely progress into riding a mountain bike off-road on beginner level trails.

 

Who would benefit – Anyone who is new to mountain biking or looking to give it a try, or someone who is a newcomer looking to build confidence with some good help and advice from an experienced teacher in order to riding more safely and confidently.

 

The sessions are hosted by qualified MTB skills teachers from official Coed y Brenin training partner Pedal MTB.

 

You can bring your own mountain bike or a rental bike can be provided free of charge for use during the session by Beics Brenin for use during the session. (terms apply, see below)  

 

Age requirements: To attend the sessions you must be 16 or over. 

You will be required to complete a waiver and supply your contact and emergency contact details on sign-up.

Session times – Saturday 9th March

 

10am – 2.5hrs – £15 (The cost of the session is 100% subsidised by Beics Brenin with the £15 fee going as a direct donation to Mountain Rescue)

How to request the use of rental bike.

 

If you require the use of a loan bike. Book your session and once confirmed, email a request to toby@summitcycles.co.uk . An e-voucher code will then be generated and forwarded to you (these are processed during office hours only so please allow a little time). The e-voucher can then be redeemed at checkout for the full value of a 3hr rental of a hardtail mountain bike on beicsbrenin.co.uk . You will need to be 18+ to book a loan bike for the sessions but parents may book a bike on behalf of a child.  Please state who you are booking the bike for in your request.

 

Loan bikes will need to be collected at least 30mins in advance of the session as processing and handover can take a little time. Bikes should be returned as soon as the tuition session is over.

 

A current for of official ID, either photocard drivers licence or passport must be supplied (and will be retained while the bike is out on loan). The loan bike will not be issued without a valid current officially recognised photo ID.
